Faceless
A doll, a doll,
It’s wearing a mask.
No face of its own,
No way to ask.
It has hair of black
And eyes of blue,
But these change with the ages,
They never stay true.
The doll never smiles,
Yes that always stays.
No reason for gladness
From those it betrays.
“The Cursed Doll” they call it.
It always brings death.
It watches its owners
Take their last breath.
Passed along like the toy
That it has possessed,
The cycle continues.
The Faceless, not blessed.
Its dress is so pretty,
All trimmed up with lace.
For every dress in its closet
It has a new face.

God, all I can remember now is a band trip where people kept yelling each other’s names on the bus, and then the one kid who can make anyone laugh just stood up and yelled “DONKEY!”
